Elite sport & vocational training

Mathias Abgottspon z way.ch ChatGPT Image 30. Juli 2026, 13 24

We look back with great appreciation on Mathias Abgottspon, who completed his commercial apprenticeship with us from 2010 to 2012 as a young competitive ice hockey player – in parallel with his intensive daily training and competition schedule.

It does not always have to be a degree: programmes that enable young top athletes, for example, to complete a full commercial apprenticeship (in Switzerland often simply called “KV”) also offer a valuable educational path with a future.

Achieving top performance in such an environment requires a high degree of mutual flexibility, individual support and numerous adjustments from everyone involved – taking training schedules, competitions and recovery phases into account.

Mathias pursued his path consistently, mastered his B.Sc. in Business & Management with flying colours and today works in Canada as Global Supply Chain and Innovation Director. We wish him continued success in all areas of life

We are proud to be part of such life paths – and are delighted by every personality who goes their very own way with discipline, determination and character.
